You should only bring them inside after they have gone fully dormant. All leaves should drop before bringing inside your basement, then kept cool enough that they don’t sprout new leaves until spring. I hope this helps!

I am a novice and early beginner (2-3 years) just looking for fig tip for zone 6b. I’ve got two Chicago figs that I move from outdoors to indoors and have gotten a bit leggy since ringing them in and now they are stored in my basement at 40 F. Any helpful hints? Love to get emails as well!
